He destroyed Devagiri with the Pashupatiastra after Sati's death, destroying the Somras and killing most of the Meluhans. After discovering that Brahaspati is alive, and allying with the Vasudevs, Chandravanshis from Kashi, Suryavanshis from Mrittikavati, and the Vayuputras, Shiva decided to wage a holy war against the true evil: the Somras which made him the Neelkanth. He later realised that they were not evil. He waged a war against the Chandravanshis after believing that they, along with Nagas, were resposible for the death of his friend: Brahaspati. Shiva married Sati and abolished the vikarma law. Shiva is also known as the Neelkanth because of his blue throat. As a youth, he was the Chief of the Guna tribe of Mount Kailash, before he was invited to migrate to Meluha from his Tibetan homeland. Shiva is a Mahadev (Destroyer of Evil), who is chosen to save ancient India from evil around 1900 BCE.
